Aki’s story
"At Cora, it is all about the people."

I first joined the business as a labourer in 2018 and it has been a really enjoyable journey so far. I’m now a site manager and every day offers something new and exciting.
My current role always throws new challenges to overcome, no two days are the same. I love that I now get to oversee our great homes from start to finish – from the first bucket in the ground to the bow hung on the door. You feel a real sense of pride when you see families moving in.
They look after you and support you in everything you do. If you show the willingness to learn, then they really help to open those doors to your development. The training on offer is unlike any other business I’ve worked for. Every few months there’s another exciting opportunity, be that on site safety or even mental health. I’m currently studying for my NVQ Level 6 in construction management – Cora really do support you to become all-rounded professionals.
All of this flows through to our relationships with our customers. It is so nice to see customers smile and wave at you or stop to say hello – and that all comes down to the people-first culture we have here.

If you show the willingness to learn, then they really help to open those doors to your development. The training on offer is unlike any other business I’ve worked for. Every few months there’s another exciting opportunity, be that on site safety or even mental health.
