Site manager sees flurry of sales on his first ever development

A site manager who started out as a labourer just four years ago says he is thrilled to have seen a flurry of sales on his first ever development.

Aki Mitha, 24, from Coventry, started working at sustainable housebuilder Cora in 2018, developing and honing his skills to become site manager.

Homes on his first site – the Old Sawmill development in Great Bowden – are selling fast, with its first show home now open to the public.

Aki said it was a proud moment showing his first customers around.

“It is a very proud moment to open my first show home as site manager – the community we have created here is outstanding,” he said.

“Having started as a labourer at Cora just a few years ago, it is a brilliant feeling to manage this site to completion.

“I love that I now get to oversee our great homes from start to finish – from the first bucket in the ground to the bow hung on the door.

“Cora have been hugely supportive of me since I started here in 2018 and have really helped open doors to my development.”

The Old Sawmill, a range of 33 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, is located to the west of the village, in walking distance to local amenities.

Homes come complete with a kitchen fitted with Siemens appliances, including an induction hob as standard, but the exact specification may vary depending on the plot.

The village has become a popular choice for young families, with the local primary school rated “outstanding” by Ofsted.

Aki added: “We are offering people something really special at the Old Sawmill. Not only is Great Bowden a fantastic part of the world, we are building fantastic homes too.

“This is a truly beautiful area with so much to offer.”

Cora places sustainability and the environment at the heart of all its homes, with a focus on ensuring they are built for the future.

Each home comes with its own electric car charging point, as well as double glazing and energy efficient UPVC windows as standard. All houses also have allocated parking spaces or garages.

The business has pledged to halve its carbon emissions by 2030, while 96% of all construction waste from its Midlands sites is recycled.

Demand for properties on the development has been high, with only a small number of three- and four-bedroom homes still available. Prices start at £309,995.

Prospective buyers are invited to visit the show home and learn more about what the Old Sawmill has to offer.
