Celebrating an incredible 2023

Housebuilding is an industry which never slows down – and for Cora, 2023 was a year to remember for all the right reasons.

This was our first year under the Cora name following our 2022 rebrand, signalling the start of a new approach to housebuilding. Here, we take a look back at a fantastic year.

An award-winning year

We never shy from singing the praises of our incredible team – and this year we are proud to have received a bounty of awards for our work.

That includes both local and national recognition for our sustainable principles, off the back of our first ever sustainability report, alongside an award for being the best employer in the East Midlands.

Our Managing Director, Luke Simmons, was also named the Climate Champion of the Year.

We are also incredibly pleased to have seen two of our employees, Aki Mitha and Jordan Sweeney, named finalists in the Young Person category at this year’s Investors in People Awards.

New faces

It has been great to welcome new faces to the Cora team this year, including our new ace marketing and sales duo Sam and Aletta.

We’ve also seen many well-deserved promotions in the team, including Aki Mitha who was promoted to Site Manager in February.

We are passionate about personal development and giving our staff the opportunity to flourish.

Success stories like Aki and great acquisitions such as Sam and Aletta stand testament to the talent we have in the team.

Media coverage

With so much positive news coming out of Cora in 2023, it was no surprise we received extensive coverage in the media.

That included numerous stories in the local East Midlands press, alongside a steady flow of features and commentary pieces in the trade press.

We also featured on national TV after being invited to take part in an interview on BBC Breakfast.

But some of the greatest coverage we received came thanks to our community work. We are passionate about both building and supporting communities – so it is always a pleasure to give back and support organisations at their heart.

This year, that included supporting two schools in rural Leicestershire with a fresh lick of paint and refurbishment works.

Our developments

This has been an incredibly exciting year when it comes to breaking ground and creating amazing places.

Our sites have been a hive of activity and it has been difficult keeping up with demand for our homes all over the Midlands.

We’ve seen all keys handed over at Eagles Edge and Romney Meadows, homes completed at The Old Sawmill and great progress made at Stoche Acre.

We even topped of the year by handing over our first set of keys at Stoche Acre in December, with a very happy homeowner moving in time for Christmas.

There is no better feeling as a housebuilder than seeing the joy of someone moving in – and we couldn’t have asked for a greater gift to see off a very successful 2023.

What’s ahead in 2024?

2024 is already shaping up to be another great year for Cora.

We’re already making great strides at our new Lancaster Gate development in Bedfordshire, while we will soon start works at Eagles Edge Phase 2 and our new Thornton site in rural Leicestershire.

There are more developments in the pipeline, so make sure to keep an eye on our developments page to find out about the next amazing places we create.
