Why community is at the core of everything we do

At Cora, our mission is to create amazing places. And we can’t achieve that without fostering a genuine sense of community at every development we build.

We are a profit with purpose housebuilder, meaning our ambitions go above and beyond that of our competitors. The climate-resilient communities we create are designed to make a positive contribution to the health, happiness and wellbeing of our customers.

Championing local businesses

We value the impact independent businesses have and recognise how they benefit the communities they serve. That’s why we work with them directly on all of our developments.

That includes utilising local eateries and catering companies to feed our staff, through to purchasing gifts for our customers from independent stores.

Examples include at our Romney Meadows development, where we bought beautiful bouquets from Kerrie and her team at The Flower House in Aylesbury.

We also decorate our show homes using preloved furniture purchased from local charity stores. Through this we aren’t just combatting waste, we’re supporting the vital services they provide.

The importance of community spaces

All our developments are designed to maximise biodiversity and support the environment – but they’re also carefully crafted to create community spaces for the future.

The majority of our sites include expansive children’s play areas and woodland pathways to encourage people to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.

We have bold plans for the future to enhance our play areas in a way that has an even greater positive impact on our environment, too.

Creating a community feel

The greatest feeling we experience as housebuilders is knowing we have created a community.

We hold regular events at our developments to bring homeowners together, from meet the neighbour events to barbecues and beyond.

Not only that, our customers also have access to the Spaciable app, an online portal where they can access information about the area they live and news from the community.

We believe in the power of connection and are pleased to already have success stories at all of our sites – including homeowners inviting our team in for a cup of tea or a slice of cake.

That includes couples like the McNamara’s praising our Site Managers Aki and Brenden for their support before, during and after the moving process.

Away from our sites, we have also worked with local schools to regenerate their classrooms and have even created new biodiversity spaces for children to learn more about their environment.
